Fair Use Policy
Last updated: December 2025
1. Purpose
This Fair Use Policy explains what we consider reasonable use of the Orin Transport Planner ("Service").
Our goal is to provide a stable, reliable, and fair experience for all customers while preventing misuse or excessive consumption of shared resources.
This policy forms part of the Orin Terms and Conditions.
2. Normal Use
Your Orin subscription is designed for day-to-day operational use by small and mid-sized transport companies.
Normal use includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating and managing transport orders
- Planning trips and assigning vehicles and drivers
- Using the driver app for trip execution and Proof of Delivery (POD)
- Generating, exporting, and managing invoices
- Managing customers, vehicles, and drivers
There are no hard functional limits within normal operational use.
3. Usage Guidelines
To protect the Service for all users, we apply the following fair use guidelines per account:
- Users: up to 50 active users
- Vehicles: up to 50 registered vehicles
- Storage: up to 10 GB for documents and images (including PODs)
- API usage (Digital plan): up to 10,000 requests per day
These limits are guidelines, not automatic cut-offs. If your usage approaches or exceeds these levels, we may contact you to discuss appropriate options.
4. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Service in a way that:
- Shares or resells access to third parties
- Uses automated access outside the official API
- Uploads malware, harmful code, or abusive content
- Violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempts to overload, disrupt, or bypass system safeguards
- Reverse engineers or attempts to extract source code
Such use may result in immediate intervention.
5. API Usage (Digital Plan)
The API is intended for legitimate business integrations, including:
- Connecting your own ERP, WMS, or planning tools
- Automated order intake from customers
- Retrieving trip, status, and invoicing data
API usage must be reasonable and aligned with operational needs. We may apply rate limiting or temporary restrictions if usage negatively impacts system stability.
6. Trial Period Usage
During the 90-day trial period, you receive access equivalent to the Digital plan.
The trial is intended for:
- Evaluating the Service
- Testing workflows and integrations
The trial is not intended for sustained production use without intent to subscribe.
We reserve the right to limit or end trial access in cases of misuse.
7. Enforcement and Measures
If usage exceeds fair use or violates this policy, we may:
- Contact you to discuss usage patterns
- Apply temporary limits or restrictions
- Require an upgrade or adjusted plan
- Suspend or terminate access in serious or repeated cases
We aim to resolve issues through communication wherever possible.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Fair Use Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
